I am currently the Print Design Lead at Luna Norte, a San Diego based jewelry brand. I design all printed material with a focus on packaging design. I design original die cut solutions for the brand’s vast catalog of active products. I manage and organize multiple packaging systems for various clients and purchasing experiences.

RAPID PROTOTYPING

This position has allowed me to create a large number of custom design solutions for a rapidly expanding product line. The process requires me to design and prototype rapidly, iterating through concepts until I arrive at a solution that can both safely transport the jewelry and display the product for the in-store experience.

ORIGINAL DIE CUT DESIGNS

I use adobe illustrator to create custom die cut solutions for boxes and product inserts. I prototype using a cricut and laser cutters to understand three dimensional compatibility of elements.

MONOCHROMATIC COLOR STORY

The brand utilizes rotating seasonal colors but also has to create cohesive narratives with products using gemstones of all colors. Dusty greens and earthy neutrals are used as core colors to communicate the use of natural gemstones, a foundation of the brand identity.

DESIGN SYSTEM

Continuous use of a familiar visual vocabulary creates continuity and brand recognition. Creating a series of solutions across all product types births a design system. In this system I utilized more structural solutions that displays the piece in a unique but intuitive way, aligned with how the jewelry is worn. Structural paper elements and monochromatic color palettes link the entire system.

ASSET MANAGEMENT

Managing multiple design systems and continuously expanding product lines requires high levels of organization. I was able to improve upon the file management system in use at my company by streamlining the folder structure to match the workflow and utilize more intuitive naming conventions to keep things tidy.
